They came from middle schoolers, college students, working adults, and retired folks. Here are the 11 finalists in the Please Wear A Mask Virginia contest, sponsored by Virginia Capitol Connections and Wordsprint M rketing Services. They are displayed here anonymously, since the final judging has not yet taken place. First announced on June 1, 2020, the contest encouraged submissions highlighting the importance of wearing a mask to stop the spread of COVID-19. Entrants had a choice of creating a print ad or a video. In the Fall 2020 edition of this magazine, the winner and runner- up will be announ ed. First place prize is a $1000 college scholarship (transferable), or 2 nights at The Commonwealth Hotel in Richmond, winner’s choice.
